Many Etowah County baseball teams saw plenty of success this season, and it showed on the 2017 Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State teams.

Seven county teams made the postseason with plenty of talent on their rosters. Etowah and Hokes Bluff made the deepest run of the seven teams and both teams were well represented on the All-State teams.

The Blue Devils had two first-teamers in Cade Runyan and Eli Dunn with Jacob Bobo landing on the second team.

Runyan made the Class 5A first team as a pitcher. He tossed 12 games and finished with an 11-1 record with a 1.10 ERA. He struck out 55 batters in 63 1/3 innings of work.

Dunn, who also pitched for Etowah, made the 5A first team as an outfielder. He had 35 hits including five doubles and five home runs. He batted .353 and totaled 28 RBIs.

Bobo made the 5A second team as a catcher. He had 40 hits and 32 RBIs with a .388 batting average.

Hokes Bluff also had three players make the 4A All-State teams.

Weston Ball (shortstop) and Wyatt Watson (designated hitter) made the second team.

Ball had 35 hits including one home run and four doubles. He hit .389 and totaled 23 RBIs. Watson finished the year with 43 hits. He totaled four doubles, one triple, one homer and 32 RBIs with a .430 batting average.
