Gadsden City Varsity Boys improved to 7-5 overall and 2-0 against Paul Bryant this season with a 45-42 win at home Monday night.
The Titans jumped out to an early lead thanks to outside shooting.
Gadsden City then ended the second quarter on an 8-1 run behind two 3-pointers by Cameron Williams to take a 19-13 lead into the half.
The Titans then started the third with a 7-0 run to extend their lead to 26-13. After that is when the Stampede made their push.
Bryant trimmed Gadsden City’s lead to 26-19 by the end of the third and to 29-24 with 6:18 left in the game.
Gadsden City’s Maleek Kidd shot four free throws as a result and made three — which ended up being the Titans’ margin of victory.
Trey Woods led the Titans with 12 points. DeMarcus Macon had seven points. Quinton Densmore grabbed six rebounds.
Jamel King scored a game-high 15 points for Bryant.
Gadsden City hosts Fort Payne on Tuesday (TONIGHT) December 10th.
