Who should be The Times’ girls basketball player of the week for the first week of January?

Voting is open until noon Wednesday. Coaches, email game results and player stats to teddy.couch@gadsdentimes.com after each contest to be featured in the top performers of the week, along with the chance for your players to go up for player of the week voting.

Chloe Davidson, Coosa Christian: The senior guard had two big games, leading the Conquerors in scoring in area wins. She scored 27 points in a 57-33 win over Gaylesville on Thursday. Davidson followed that up Saturday with 23 points in a 49-47 victory over Donoho.

Tameah Gaddis, Gadsden City: The junior guard tallied a double-double in a 40-35 win over Albertville on Tuesday. Gaddis had 15 points and 14 rebounds in the win.

Kileigh Blackwell, Hokes Bluff: The junior guard scored a team-high 16 points as the Eagles narrowly lost to area foe Geraldine, 42-20, Tuesday.

Sydney Yancey, Southside: The senior forward totaled 18 points in leading the Panthers to a 60-32 win over Fort Payne in area play Tuesday.
