Titan boys move up, girls hold steady in ASWA basketball rankings

The Gadsden City boys moved up one spot to No. 2 in Class 7A, while the Titan girls remained No. 9 in the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s high school basketball rankings released Wednesday night. Lady Titans get big area WIN against Huntsville

Class 7A, No. 9 Gadsden City defeated Area 7 foe Huntsville 57-44 Friday night in girls high school basketball. Brooke Burns led the Titans (12-6, 4-1) with 24 points. Haley Troup had 21 points and four assists. Robin Treadwell grabbed six rebounds. The Titans host Buckhorn on Friday.

Gadsden City’s Kalin Johnson set a school record for 3-pointers made in a career as Class 7A, No. 3 Gadsden City rolled past Hueytown 80-49 in boys high school basketball Saturday.
