Gadsden City 59, Arab 48
The Titans ended the game on a 10-0 run to down the Knights.
The run came in the final 2:29 of the game and started with a steal and layup in transition by Adrianna Jones. Gadsden City (10-3) knocked down four free throws late to help put away Arab (5-8). Jones hit two of them while Camille Jenkins had the other two.
“For us, we just made some stops and they missed some shots,” Gadsden City coach Jeremy Brooks said. “They stalled out and couldn’t continue to get buckets. We just made enough shots at the end of the game to give us some cushion.”
The Titans were 15-of-21 from the free throw line, which was a big difference in the game. A lot of the fouls came after Gadsden City caused turnovers and was attempting to score in transition.
“We hit all of our free throws in the fourth quarter,” Brooks said. “The layups sparked us, too.”
The Titans were up 25-12 after one quarter, then the Knights trimmed their deficit to 31-29 at halftime. Gadsden City led 45-39 through three quarters.
Jenkins led the Titans with 21 points. Tameah Gaddis added 10 points. Jones tallied nine points. Mya Davis and Tamiya Wise each totaled six points.
