Special Olympics gets the Silver!

Gadsden City Titans Special Olympics basketball team earns the Silver medal at the State Basketball games today. The Titans won the first game against Pinson Valley and advanced on to play a very hard fought game against James Clemens High school and won 22-18. Congratulations guys on a superb job!  Gadsden City is extremely proud of you.

Troup and Burns selected to play in the 27th Alabama-Mississippi All-Star games

Alabama signees Alex Reese of Pelham and Herb Jones of Hale County are part of Alabama’s roster for the 27th Alabama-Mississippi All-Star games. The girls-boys doubleheader will be played March 17 at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome on the campus of Alabama State in Montgomery. The girls tip at 5 p.m., followed by the boys at 7.


The TITAN Special Olympics basketball team won to today against Decatur Parks and Recreation 32-22. Keyshawn Taylor and Demetrius Blaylock and Deandre Mathis were the high scorers.  The next step is the Special Olympics State games this Thursday and Friday in Montgomery. Gadsden City Titan Special Olympics basketball team defeated Gadsden Parks and Recreation today 34-24 today.  Game well played by all players.  Their next game is a makeup game against Cheahua/Altatointe Health and Recreation Friday at 10 AM at GCHS. #TitanStrong

Troup, Nominated for Gatorade Player of the Year

According to Gatorade Player of the Year Program Compliance Coordinator, Meghan Patrick, Haley Troup is being considered for the Gatorade Alabama Girls Basketball Player of the Year award. Haley is now a top contender for the award and should know her results very soon. Gatorade’s Play it Forward program will allow the winning athletes to receive a $1,000 grant payable


Congratulations to the Special Olympics Basketball team for winning yesterday against Exceptional Foundation of Birmingham 27-25.  They have had a fantastic season so far and Gadsden City is so very proud of them!  Keep it up guys! TITAN STRONG !
